This TSA workshop is designed for:

This workshop was designed to help Facility Management Departments to substantially reduce their long-term maintenance costs by strengthening their preventive maintenance procedures. Participants will gain detailed knowledge on exactly which areas in their departments they need to check, and they will learn how to check them, as well as how to perform the preventive maintenance procedures listed on the agenda. They will learn how to structure an effective PM Program, develop and use inspection checklists, identify potential problem areas, and perform energy conservation surveys. A visual PM inspection using a computerized digital slide presentation will be performed during the workshop while participants utilize sample checklists. TSA certificates also will be presented to everyone who attends this training.
Agenda
DAY ONE, 9:00 am – 4:30 pm:
- Defining Preventive Maintenance and its importance
- Determining PM needs and gathering data
- Establishing new PM programs and improving existing programs
- Creating a customized PM checklist for the needs of each agency
- Developing periodic time frames for inspections and performing PM
- Performing the actual PM inspection
- Creating a schedule and performing PM according to the schedule
- Creating and performing work orders based upon the PM inspection
- Round-table discussion / Common PM problems
DAY TWO, 8:00 am – Noon:
- Contracting out certain PM inspections and servicing
- Explanation of various computer software work order systems related to PM
- RECORD KEEPING: Manual vs. Computer
- EQUIPMENT & SYSTEMS: Identifying & Tagging
- Conducting energy conservation surveys as a part of PM
- BUILDING SYSTEMS: Life expectations
