This training workshop is Part 2 in a [two-part] series related to Maintenance Administration. The workshop was designed to help Facility Clerks and Maintenance Administrative staff to operate in organized, efficient, and motivated Maintenance Department offices. Workshop participants will gain a more in-depth level of knowledge in this Part 2 of the series on the following topics:
- How the computer & software programs make jobs easier
- Work order management
- Office paperwork & procedures / improving filing systems
- Purchasing & inventory control
- Scheduling & supervision
- Promoting teamwork / dealing with difficult co-workers
- Saving time on the job
- Reducing stress
TSA certificates will be presented to everyone who attends this training.

First Day, 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm
Second Day, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

- Using computer software programs to make the job easier
- Using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access to assist you in record keeping
- Work order systems – manual and computerized software to help you
- A follow-up system to make sure that work orders are done satisfactorily
- Work order management (too much / not enough time / help), staff & budget constraints, prioritizing the different types of maintenance
- Creating and maintaining correspondence records, statistical reports
- Preparing and processing purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, payment requests, travel requests, etc.
- Keeping and tracking overtime, leave time, equipment, purchases
- Maintaining staff records related to sick and vacation leave
- Tips for creating various types of correspondence
- Tips for scheduling work
- Understanding and monitoring radio systems
