  • Maintenance and Construction staff who would like to learn techniques for installing and replacing windows & doors

Participants at this hands-on workshop will learn how to install doors and windows in new construction, and replace existing doors and windows. Each participant will learn how to hang and adjust pre-hung doors, and replace doors in existing doorjambs.  Whether you are rehabilitating housing, performing unit turnovers, processing work orders, or remodeling a house/building, this workshop offers you the first-hand skills needed to replace doors and windows. Each participant will receive a detailed workbook that explains how to install and adjust windows & doors, which will be theirs to keep for reference on the job.

This part 1 doors and windows workshop covers the mechanical and installation aspects.    All finish work is covered in the second workshop Hands-on Doors and Windows Part 2: The Finish Work workshop that follows this one.  TSA certificates will be presented to all who attend this training.

  22. Knowing your job description – responsibilities of the lead installer versus the assistant installer

  24. Replacing an existing door with a slab-door
  25. Replacing a door & jamb with a pre-hung door
