This TSA workshop is designed for:

  • Custodial Maintenance Staff
  • Housekeeping Staff
  • Custodial, Housekeeping, and Maintenance Supervisors

Well-maintained and clean floors are essential to the image and safety of every agency and facility. Accomplishing this challenging task is an ongoing battle for Maintenance and Custodial staff and their Supervisors. It requires a full range of knowledge because of the wide variety of flooring that is utilized in buildings. This workshop has been structured to include the most common types of floor care maintenance problems that are encountered in Facility and Custodial Management.

Workshop participants will learn how to clean, maintain, and restore all types of flooring, including carpet, vinyl, ceramic, concrete, rubber, and wood. Safety will be emphasized during the workshop, such as the proper techniques and procedures for caring for floors, and the proper use of chemicals and floor care equipment.

Under the supervision of our knowledgeable workshop leader, who has owned and operated a successful custodial business in the private sector for many years, there will be “hands-on” opportunities to learn by actually doing some of the floor care maintenance presented.  Participants will receive a detailed custodial workbook to use during the training, which will be theirs to keep for future reference on the job.  TSA certificates will be presented to everyone who attends this training.
